What Is Arbor Commercial Mortgage?

Arbor was originally founded by Chief Executive Officer, Ivan Kaufman. In 1983, he formed Arbor Holdings, Inc. and its premier residential lending subsidiary, Arbor Mortgage, Inc. Under Mr. Kaufman’s direction, Arbor grew to 25 branches in eleven states, with the company funding more than $4 billion in loans annually and servicing nearly $5.5 billion. In 1995, the then publicly-held Arbor National Holdings, Inc. was sold to BankAmerica. Mr. Kaufman retained the commercial side of the business, where he saw an opportunity to fill a void left by traditional sources of capital.
