What Is California Giant Berry Farms?

California Giant was built by the dedication of many hard-working individuals, committed to one common goal; the perfect berry for our customers. We go to great lengths to produce the most flavorful, healthy fruit possible. We are committed to meeting the demands and challenges of an ever-changing marketplace, and we have the flexibility to respond quickly to your needs and requests. We began as a small start-up company in 1970 and continued to grow and ultimately develop a formal partnership between the four owners. In 1983 the company became New West Fruit Corporation. At that time the company concentrated on shipping strawberries from Watsonville and Santa Maria, CA under the brand name California Giant. In 1993, with strong sales and determination, the company established sources of supply to extend the berry season and began shipping strawberries from Oxnard, Ca. The company focus was changed from strictly a shipping operation and expanded to include growing operations. The goal was to control as much of the chain of production as possible to provide better quality and supply to customers on a daily basis. Finally, in 1998 we adopted our primary brand name, California Giant, as our corporate name in order to sharpen the company's brand focus. We now control most of the production that we ship around the country and the world, as well as the handling facilities, our fresh juice operation and frozen processing facility.
